2. Strategic Relationships: Yes!
- Firstly, we are grateful for the relationship with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). MCC is our landlord at our 'Twin Firs' plant location. We lease 5000 square feet of space from them in exchange for a percentage of our dried produce, to be used for MCC relief work. This relationship was initiated by MCC and we are grateful to them for the proposal.
- BC Hot House is a packaging and marketing organization for greenhouse products such as tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. In March, 1999, BC Hot House agreed to donate their culls to both Gleaner societies, making them the largest produce donor for our organizations. To give an example of the value of this relationship, OK. Gleaners has by mid-summer received as much as 170,000 pounds of produce! We are thankful to all the BC Hot House producers and staff for their cooperation in helping alleviate world hunger.
