The Story...

Fraser Valley Gleaners Society (FVG) was established in 1998. A sister organization of the Okanagan Gleaners, FVG was formed to facilitate the processing of surplus food, close to its source in the Fraser Valley.

It was in June, 2001 that Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and FVG agreed that MCC would build a processing facility and FVG would equip and operate it. That agreement was implemented and production began!

We recognize that as Canadians we are blessed with an abundant food supply, much of which remains unharvested or is deemed unmarketable. FVG recognizes this opportunity to bring 'waste' and 'need' together and help alleviate both.

Through the committed efforts of the volunteer Board of Directors and many other volunteers, people in need will receive food.
