Our AGM will start at 10:00 AM at the plant located at 85 Winson Rd, Abbotsford. BBQ lunch will be served after the meeting. Nominations: The FVG constitution states that “nominations for directors must be submitted to the board of directors, in writing, at least 24 hours before an annual meeting, in such a form as is published from time to time by the society." Several director positions are up for re-election and we have appointed a nominations committee with nomination forms available at the plant. Please contact Bob Spyksma (604-859-9759), Marilyn Vriend (604-850-3830) or Ann VanderMeulen (604-864-0229) for further information.

Soup in Uganda

Soup in Uganda

This past year there has been much unrest in Uganda with the elections and famine. Barb Giraud from Jaaja Barb’s Home of Angels says "We are witnessing drought causing famine and many deaths weekly in Jinga. Water has become a severe problem. We have been blessed with water at our home and we try to help others who have none. The Gleaner soup is now known as a delicacy here at the Home of Angels. We prepared and served 150 children in the community with Gleaners Soup for Christmas dinner. They loved the soup mix on top of rice; some had more than one plate full.”

Gleaner's Expansion 2017

Your Board of Directors has begun planning our building expansion for the lunchroom, washrooms, offices and maintenance shop. The preliminary drawings are completed. By the time of the AGM we should have more details and cost projections.
